Lauren Newcombe
Lauren was admitted to practice as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of NSW in 2018.
Prior to her admission, Lauren worked in the community legal sector as a Tenants’ Advocate in Western Sydney. In this role, Lauren assisted clients from all walks of life with a diverse range of legal and non-legal issues, and regularly appeared at NCAT during both conciliation and final hearing stages.
Following her admission, Lauren gained extensive experience in Wills & Estates, as well as civil litigation primarily in the Supreme Court and Land & Environment Court jurisdictions and conducting criminal prosecutions in the Local Court for several local Councils.
In 2022, Lauren’s underlying passion and curiosity for Family Law led her to join the Family Focus Legal team, and Lauren immediately applied her strong dispute resolution and litigation skills to assist her clients in their family law matters, estate disputes and in the preparation of their estate planning documents.
Lauren is admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia and regularly appears and instructs in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia for family law matters involving parenting, property division and divorce, and in the Supreme Court of NSW in relation to deceased estate disputes including family provision claims.
Lauren enjoys getting to know her clients to understand their story and advocates for a conciliatory approach utilising mediation and alternative means of dispute resolution in reaching a final outcome for her clients.
Lauren has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business (Marketing Communications) obtained from the University of Technology, Sydney and is currently undertaking a Masters of Applied Law (Family Law) at the College of Law. Lauren is also a member of the Law Society of New South Wales.
Outside of work Lauren is kept busy with her active Groodle named Finch and otherwise enjoys tennis, yoga and taking scenic walks with family or friends (and a coffee)!
