World First App to Help Address Domestic Violence

World First App to Help Address Domestic Violence

Assistant NSW Police Commissioner McCusker has said “each day Police respond to nearly 400 domestic violence incidents across the state” so it is great to see the government trying to tackle the problem.

The App will focus on assisting the community in understanding their various obligations under an Apprehended Domestic Violence Order (ADVO) and provide information and assistance anytime, anywhere and at no cost.

The App will provide the following in easy to understand language: –

  1. Information about ADVO’s;
  2. Information about court processes and appearing at Court;
  3. Information about the consequences of breaching ADVO’s; and
  4. A directory and links to support services.

The App will not replace the importance of legal advice in situations of domestic violence, however, it will allow the community to be better informed about the impacts that their behaviour has and the tools to help make a positive change.

If you need specific legal involving matters of domestic violence you can contact our office to arrange an appointment with one of our experienced solicitors to discuss your rights.
